Museum will feature the role of women during WW1 from Creswick and District. It will feature the mothers, the wives, sweethearts and the nurses. The Australian Red Cross was founded on August 13th but they were not the only organisation to whom money was collected and donated. The women collect money and gave generously of their time. A number of nurses volunteered to serve on the hospital ships, Egypt, Lemnos, the Western Front and the Far East. Most came home in poor health and would be affected for the rest of their days, they were the other ANZACS. There are the desperate letters from mothers pleading for just something of a lost son.
