The fibre is downy-soft, warm, light and fine. 90 percent of cashmere goats are farmed in China and Mongolia so the vast majority of products are imported. Cashmere fibres have thin cuticle cells that create the velvety feel and making it perfect for knitwear.

Meet baby Goats at Creswick Woollen Mills on 2nd of October to 5th of October.

In the month of October we are celebrating Cashmere Fibre. Fibre from a goat, but a very luxurious goat! The fibre is downy-soft, warm, light and fine. 90 percent of cashmere goats are farmed in China and Mongolia so the vast



majority of products are imported. Cashmere fibres have thin cuticle cells that create the velvety feel and making it perfect for knitwear.



On the 2nd to the 5th of October we have Baby Cashmere goats: Come and have a pat and cuddle of these beautifully soft babies. You can hand feed chaff (dried hay) and watch the tiny babies have their bottles.

 Stone Carving Workshop

Shaping stone is easier than you might think. You can create a beautiful bird bath in this 2 day weekend workshop. Relief carving is cutting decorative images into a stone surface using hammer and chisel. A 100mm (4 inch) angle grinder is used for bowl cutting. Simple designs - Celtic knots, basic leaf and flower shapes - will be available or bring along your own. A selection of basalt rocks will be provided but feel free to bring your own piece of stone. Following a sold out event in 2013, the Trentham Food Hub is again hosting the annual Growers, Cookers and Eaters dinner. This is the third year that the event has been held and it is becoming more popular each year.

The dinner is a celebration of local food featuring dishes from several local chefs, seasonal produce from over 30 producers and live entertainment from local artists.

This is an Australian Fair Food Week event, promoting resilient, equitable and sustainable food systems. All proceeds will contribute to our projects supporting the local farming sector and guests will hear about the next phase for the Trentham Food Hub while meeting local farmers and foodies.

 The Earth Mother Project

Join local artist and sculptor Earl Ingleby as he builds from scratch an 1.8 metre tall depiction of the ancient Earth Mother Goddess based on the research of Professor Marija Gimbutas.

Daylesford Art Show is a major annual event celebrating visual art in Daylesford and the wider Hepburn Shire. Held over the Melbourne Cup Weekend each year to celebrate, participate and honour our Artists. This year there will be 5 categories each with a prize of $500 and a People’s Prize.
The Daylesford Art Show is an opportunity for the public to purchase art from select local and national artists and for artists to sell direct to the public, to make contacts and to build a relationship with buyers and potential buyers. Email or ring Jan Pengilley for an entry form, entry fee. $15 per Painting (Max 4 paintings).

Opening night, Thursday, 30th October at 6.00pm – Private Viewing by ticket only available on the website.
