| Nominations open this week for Hepburn Shire Council’s Australia Day Citizens of the Year Awards.
The annual awards are a highlight event of the Council’s Australia Day activities, with nominations being sought for Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year.
The awards pay tribute to people or groups who have made significant contributions to the community during 2009 or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.
The Community Event of the Year award is open to the person or group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the year.
The Young Citizen of the Year must be no more than 25 years of age on 26 January 2010.
The awards will be announced at the traditional Australia Day Eve function at the Daylesford Town Hall on Monday 25 January 2010.

Explain the achievement, background and reason for the nomination Enclose clear copies of any information which supports the nomination List any other awards the nominee has received Include any other relevant information Be in writing – no more than 500 words
Nominations close 5pm Tuesday 1 December 2009
