Hepburn Shire Council supports communities in identifying their vision and priorities through community planning. Community planning empowers communities to make decisions and act on what is important for them now and in the future. Communities that are empowered to do this will be stronger and more successful.

Hepburn Shire Council originally adopted community planning, along with a framework for its implementation in 2007. This commitment included funding to undertake the first two community plans, as pilots, in the 2007/08 financial year. A further commitment was made in Council’s Ten Year Financial Plan to extend the roll out of community plans across the Shire.
