Hepburn Shire Council regularly publishes public notices in order to let the community know about Council meetings, planning applications, calls for submissions and other important information in accordance with its statutory obligations.
The Local Government Act 1989 also requires that all of Council's public notices are published on this web page.

Financial Budget 2009-2010

HEPBURN SHIRE COUNCIL
Preparation of Proposed Budget
and Declaration of Rates and Charges

The Hepburn Shire Council has prepared an Annual Budget for the financial period 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010. The Annual Budget forms part of the four year budget proposed by Council for the period ending 30 June 2013.

INFORMATION:
At the Council Meeting scheduled for 7pm on Monday 29 June 2009 at the Daylesford Senior Citizens Rooms, rear of the Town Hall building, Council will formally meet to consider any submissions that have been received.

At the Council Meeting scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday 30 June 2009 at the Daylesford Senior Citizens Rooms, rear of the Town Hall building, Council will formally meet to consider and adopt the budget for 2009 - 2010.

The Annual Budget as prepared by the Council discloses that:
1. As at 30 June 2009 the total amount borrowed by Council will be $3.61 million.
2. The Council propose to borrow $300,000 for the Doug Lindsay Recreation Reserve Project in 2009/10.
3. The total amount of borrowings projected to be redeemed during the year will be $418,600
4. The total amount of borrowings at 30 June 2008 is projected to be $3.49 million.
5. The expected cost of servicing the borrowings during the financial year is $222,850
6. It provides for 6 Councillor allowances of $17,658 each.
7. It provides a Mayoral allowance of $52,974.
8. Council proposes the following rate in the dollar for each type of rate to be levied for the period 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010.

9. Council proposes that a Municipal Charge of $22 be declared for the period 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010.
10. Council proposes to levy a Waste Management Charge of $90 for the period 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010 on all properties. Owners of ‘farm rated’ properties will pay only one charge for farm rated properties.
11. Council proposes to levy a Garbage Collection Charge of $76 on those properties receiving a service for the period 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010.
12. Council proposes to levy a Recycling Collection Charge of $66 for each property receiving the fortnightly recyclables collection service for the period 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010.

Copies of the budget and prescribed information will be available for inspection from Thursday 28 May 2009 at the Council’s offices in Daylesford and Creswick, at all Hepburn Library branches, newsagent in Trentham and from Council’s website www.hepburnshire.com.au

Submissions
Any person may make a submission to the Council on any proposal contained in the budget. Submissions received by the Council before 5pm on Thursday 25 June 2009 will be considered for impact on the budget.
