| During the warmer months from October to April, there is no doubt that fire hazardous growth left on properties can pose a serious risk and threat to property and life.
As a land owner, you have an obligation under the CFA Act to remove or reduce any combustible material on your property before the fire danger period starts. Below is a link to various Contractors throughout the area that may be able to assist with maintaining your property in readiness for the upcoming Fire Season.
Property checks are made by Council each year to ensure owners comply with the Act. If you are a resident and are aware of any potential fire hazards, please ensure you report them to Council.
The CFA also imposes burning-off restrictions each year around November to March, depending on weather conditions. During this period, only essential burning may be carried out under the conditions of a permit.
Permits can be obtained by contacting the Compliance Coordinator on 5348 1577 or 5348 1633. | |
