| Transport Concessions and Subsidies | | Multi Purpose Taxi Program - helps Victorians with severe and permanent disabilities use taxis at an affordable rate. The Program gives members half price taxi fares. Victorian Seniors Card holders - this includes greater access to concession fares on V/Line train and coach services, the introduction of a Seniors Sunday Pass giving free travel on metropolitan trains, trams and buses and some regional city buses on Sundays and the issuing of two Off-Peak Travel Vouchers. Victorian Patient Transport Assistance Scheme - aims to improve accessibility of specialist medical and oral health services for rural Victorian residents by providing partial reimbursement to assist with travel and accommodation costs incurred by rural patients and if appropriate, their escorts, when travelling long distances or staying away from home to receive specialist medical treatment. Companion Card - Cardholders on all Victorian public transport services can have their companions travel without charge, on all train and tram services, and all metropolitan bus services, country trains, coach and town bus services.
Public Transport Concessions - a number of public transport concession tickets are available to students, seniors, people with disabilities and people on low income. or www.office-for- children.vic.gov.au
Mobility Allowance - provides assistance to people with disabilities who are in paid employment, voluntary work, vocational training, undertaking independent living/life skills training or a combination of paid work and training and who are unable to use public transport without substantial assistance. | Sustainable Transport | | TravelSmart - aims to reduce people’s dependency on cars and persuade them to choose sustainable travel alternatives such as travelling by public transport, cycling and walking.
Bicycle Victoria - is a self-funded community organisation, dedicated to getting more people cycling more often. Pedestrian Council of Australia - educates, advocates and promotes for the rights and responsibilities of pedestrians.
Walking School Bus Program - involves trained volunteers collecting children from designated drop-off points and walking them to and from school.
Ride2School Program – aims to get more students riding and walking more often.
