Procurement Specialist

  • Starting $88,869 pa + 10.5% super
  • Up to 50% work from home
About the role

In this role you will be providing specialist advice to internal stakeholders, contractors and potential suppliers on procurement planning, contract development and management issues, including contract renewal and extension strategies. 

You will be supporting other council staff with education, training and capacity building around procurement and contract management. 

You will ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation and participate in tender evaluations and due diligence as part of the tender process and awarding of contracts.

About you

You have a passion for procurement and contract management and an understanding of applicable legislation and compliance requirements.  

You are proud of your strong interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and networking skills that enable you to build and maintain relationships and provide appropriate education and support when required.

You have a tertiary qualification in a related field or have qualifications and extensive relevant work experience in procurement, tendering and contract management.

You are confident in your ability and experience in preparing and executing contract documentation and your understanding of local government and the environment in which it operates.

It is a condition of employment that all Hepburn Shire Council employees declare their COVID-19 vaccination status. In line with the Chief Health Officer’s COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Direction, all Hepburn Shire Council employees are required to provide a COVID-19 certificate of evidence of vaccination, or a medically approved vaccination exemption prior to commencement. All positions at Council are covered by mandatory vaccination requirements and as such, the successful candidate must provide evidence of being COVID-19 vaccinated to Council as part of the pre-employment process.
