About the role:
We have an opportunity for an Accountant to join our Council. Reporting to the Manager Financial Services you will provide a high level of financial management information to the wider organisation. You will also provide specialist advice to managers regarding the planning and administration of their budgets and prepare monthly management reports for Council and the Executive Management Team. Key responsibilities include generating and actioning financial reports and ensuring Council complies with legislation and accounting standards.
This is a permanent full time position, classified at Band 6 with a commencing salary of $76,834 per annum, plus 10% super.
What we’re looking for
Our new Accountant will have an analytical approach to problem solving with the ability to develop innovative and contemporary solutions. You will have a strong attention to detail and desire to investigate data and information. Membership of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants or Australian Chartered Institute of Accountants would be considered an advantage. Previous experience in a similar role and relevant qualifications are essential, whilst previous local government experience is desirable.
