Council has received funding to develop a biodiversity strategy, along with a 5 year action plan as part of a larger Climate Change Project. Deakin University have been awarded the contract and have begun work on developing the Strategy. The intention of the plan is to balance community driven projects and priorities along with natural resource management priorities driven through the state and federal governments.
Community consultation sessions will be held around Hepburn Shire to help develop the strategy and action plan. Community feedback and input is vital to develop a plan supported by all stakeholders.
