  • Commencing salary $86,280.48 p.a. pro rata + 9.5% superannuation

About the role:

The Coordinator Early Years and Healthy Communities is responsible for the coordination and development of effective initiatives, programs and projects that increase social inclusion, equity and health & wellbeing across the Hepburn Shire. You will also be responsible for facilitating the development and implementation of the Early Years Network and Early Years Plan, and the Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan. Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Actively engage a range of community members and other stakeholders in planning, delivering and evaluating a range of initiatives aimed at generating positive outcomes for families, young people and the broader community.
  • Research and develop high quality reports, including recommendations that provide advice to the Leadership Group, Executive Team and Councillors as required.
  • Develop strong networks with relevant government and non-government organisations to maintain up-to-date knowledge of social policy direction, legislation and funding opportunities.
  • Facilitate collaboration between a range of services and other relevant agencies.
  • Develop and implement strategies, projects and actions in response to the needs and priorities of families, young people in partnership with communities, youth agencies and other service providers.
  • Identify and develop funding proposals, budget business cases and project reports that deliver social inclusion, equity and accessibility outcomes.

A strong candidate for this role will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, with appropriate experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
  • Manage and direct outcomes with a small team of direct reports.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to, community development and capacity building, human rights and social inclusion principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and review of strategic plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and develop partnerships with a wide range stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capacity to prepare funding submissions, administer funding agreements and manage a budget.
  • Demonstrated capacity to independently manage a range of tasks and projects concurrently to effectively manage competing priorities.
