Following the recent announcement by the Victorian Government to further ease COVID-19 restrictions, Council will introduce a phased re-opening of Customer Service to the community.
Chief Executive Officer, Evan King, said the easing of restrictions allows some community facilities and services to re-open, albeit with restricted numbers and social distancing requirements in place.
“We welcome the easing of restrictions and we will be taking a risk-based approach to re-opening services to the community,” said Mr King.
Council is pleased to announce modified Customer Services will be available at the following sites on specific days, operating 10:00am till 2:00pm:
- Clunes – Thursday and Friday
- Creswick – Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
- Daylesford, Duke Street Office – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
The services that will be available onsite include:
- Council Payments
- Paperwork Lodgement
- VicRoads Agency
- Disabled Parking Permits.
The services that are not available include:
- Face-to-face appointments or meetings with Council department representatives
- Meeting room hire
- VicRoads Leaner Permit Testing.
These are temporary service adjustment so that we can serve the public safely until restrictions are further lifted.
“We continue to encourage the community to contact us via phone or email where possible, rather than attending a Customer Service Centre,” said Mr. King.
In easing restrictions, the State Government is reminding the community to social distance, be cautious and use common sense. If you are sick, you are to remain home, and you will not be granted entry into the sites. It is also a requirement to record the names of people who attend our facilities, but we assure the community that if personal information is retained, it will be stored and protected and only be made available to health authorities if contact tracing is required.
State Government announcements have been clear – if you are able to work from home you must, therefore, our Council Offices remain closed. There are a number of ways the community can continue to make contact with Council without leaving home. These are:
