Council is calling on Expressions of Interest from not-for-profit community group(s) to conduct Welcome to New Residents sessions.
The sessions are to be conducted in Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford and Trentham. These four locations are intended to cover the whole municipality.
The purpose of the Welcome to New Residents sessions is to provide information about Council and other services as well as an introduction to the local community, for example volunteering opportunities, local events and activities. While the sessions would be organised and promoted by the successful community group they would be delivered in partnership with Council. It would be expected that the Mayor and /or Ward Councillor would be invited to make a welcoming speech and Council information would be provided at the session.
Council has allocated $1,000 per town for the delivery of a minimum of two sessions annually. The successful group will enter into a terms and conditions agreement with Council for one year and will be required to submit an annual acquittal. Your expression of interest can relate to operating sessions in individual towns.
Expressions of Interest will be assessed on:
- Proposed approach to Welcome to New Residents Session – how would the event be organised and run;
- Cost to Council;
- Demonstrated experience in organising and promoting community events;
- Proven ability to work in partnership with other community groups and services; and,
- Planned marketing and promotional activity.
