Hepburn Shire Council is pleased to announce that it appointed Evan King as Chief Executive Officer at its Council meeting held last night in Clunes.

Mayor Cr John Cottrell said that he was pleased that the search for a new CEO has ended with the successful appointment of Evan King.  Mr King will commence in the CEO role on 23 July 2018.

“Evan was a standout candidate who has the experience and commitment to lead the organisation into the future,” said Cr Cottrell.

Mr King has previously held the position of General Manager Corporate Services at Hepburn Shire Council.

Evan has worked both in the private and local government sectors.  He has a list of achievements in Local Government, and is currently Director of Corporate and Community Services at Pyrenees Shire Council. Evan has a number of qualifications, including a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Federation University, he is a Certified Practicing Accountant and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

“Evan was a well-respected member of the leadership team at Council during his time as a General Manager, and we look forward to his leadership as the new CEO,” said Cr Cottrell.

“I’m really excited to be heading back to Hepburn Shire as the new CEO.  I look forward to working with Councillors, the community and staff to pursue our priorities.  My priority over the coming months will be to ensure we put the customer first and creating a customer focused organisation,” said Mr King.
