Our libraries are amongst the busiest places in the Shire. Libraries, often referred to as the ‘third place’ or the ‘community lounge room’, are a hive of social activity containing more than just books (we also have access to millions of those as well!).

Hepburn Shire Council manages four Libraries throughout our municipality – Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford and Trentham. Hepburn Libraries is a member of the shared library services provided by Central Highlands Libraries and a Libraries Victoria Card Library.
You can search and place holds on items via the Library Catalogue
At our Libraries you can:
- Borrow books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, audio books, eBooks, eAudio books and online Magazines
- Use the internet & WiFi for free
- Print, photocopy, fax and scan documents
- Catch up with friends
- Enjoy Baby Rhyme Time, Storytime, school holiday programs, author talks, bookclub or bookchat groups and other unique events (see the Events Calendar)
……and much much more.
In line with the Victorian Government’s Roadmap requirements, anyone aged 12 years and 2 months and over will need to be fully vaccinated to enter our libraries.
If you are not fully vaccinated, you can use our “click and collect” service. Simply join online – Sign Me Up to reserve items. You will be notified when your items become available. You can then attend the library where the items are and our staff will pass them to you.
