Hepburn Shire Council Supports Marriage Equality

Hepburn Shire Council supports marriage equality.

In 2012, Council passed a notice of motion advocating for a change to the marriage act to allow same-sex couples to marry. At this week’s Council meeting, a motion was passed calling for the rainbow flag to be raised in Vincent Street Daylesford in recognition of our support for equality.

Australian people will have the opportunity to have their say with a same-sex marriage postal plebiscite. Mayor Cr Sebastian Klein and Max Primmer from the ChillOut committee did the flag raising honours.
