Community input into the Council planning and Budget process means we have heard your aspirations for the Shire.

Drafts of the Council Plan and Budget were adopted at the at the 18 April 2017 Council meeting.  The draft is now available to the community for public comment (click on the links above to download copies of the documents).  Once public submissions are considered, the Council Plan and Budget will go to the June Council meeting for adoption.  We will then have the task of delivering on our commitments and reporting on progress in our Annual Report.

Public Information Sessions

As part of Council’s consultation process, we held a series of information sessions in each ward for ratepayers to get an insight into the proposed Council Plan (including the Strategic Resource Plan 2017-20121) and Budget 2017/18. These information sessions provided an opportunity for ratepayers to provide feedback on the Road Management Plan (Version 5).


Any person may make a written submission to Council on any proposal contained in the proposed council plan, proposed strategic resource plan, proposed budget or proposed road management plan.  Submissions must be received by Council before 5pm on Wednesday 24 May 2017.

Those who write a submission should clearly specify if they, or their representative, wish to be heard in support of their submission at the Special Council Meeting scheduled for 6pm on Tuesday 6 June 2017 to be held in the Daylesford Senior Citizens’ Room.

At the Council Meeting scheduled for 6pm on Tuesday 20 June 2017 to be held in the Daylesford Senior Citizens’ Room, Council will formally meet to consider and determine the adoption of the Council Plan 2017-2021, Strategic Resource Plan 2017-2021, Budget 2017/2018 and the Road Management Plan (Version 5) 2017.
