The Newlyn Netball Facility upgrade project has commenced at the Newlyn Recreation Reserve. Working closely with the Recreation Reserve Committee, Council is supporting the Newlyn Reserve Committee to manage and constructing their new netball facility/change rooms.
Last year Council asked the community how we could make Lake Daylesford a better place for locals and visitors. The Resurrection of Lake Daylesford Project received a significant boost with the announcement of $250,000 in funding from Regional Development Victoria. This will combine with Hepburn Shire Council's $130,000 allocated funding.
The new Town and Shire Road Signage Project is underway with the planning stages near completion. A prototype of the Town entry signs has been installed on the Daylesford Malmsbury Road with further gateway, interpretive and destination signs to be installed over the coming months.
Hub projects across Hepburn Shire aim to improve and increase services and provide better facilities for the community. Each project seeks to address issues specific to each town, and in a way that reflects their unique identity.
The Toward Zero Emissions program includes initiatives such as the installation of solar panels on Council buildings, upgrade to LED streetlights, bio-diesel for heavy vehicle fleet and waste to Energy Feasibility Study.
Streetscapes in Hepburn Shire are in need of rejuvenation and upgrade to ensure they meet the needs of local residents and continue to attract visitors from outside the region.
