Special committees are appointed by Council with specific delegated powers and functions to assist Council to manage Council-owned or controlled facilities under Section 86 of the Local Government Act 1989.
Council values the contribution made by volunteers who form our special committees and encourages all members of the community to consider applying when positions become available.
Members are appointed to special committees by Council for a fixed term. Positions will be advertised on this page when they become available. Applicants for special committees are required to complete the Special Committee Application Form.
All members of special committees operate under the requirements outlined in an Instrument of Delegation which sets out their power, functions and responsibilities in relation to each facility (see individual pages below) and the Guidelines for Special Committees.
