Trentham Early Learning – FAQ’s

How long will construction take?

Approximately 6 months (starting late May 2020)

Why do trees need to be removed?

The new part of the building requires a Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) rating, and the recommendations from the expert report was to remove a small number of trees near the new building to reduce the BAL rating. The number of trees to be removed has been minimised as much as possible. The unavoidable tree removals will be offset with certified vegetation offsets.

What will the addition look like?

See the designs below.

How is the construction funded?

The new addition is joint funded by Hepburn Shire Council and The Victorian Government.

Will the existing kinder services continue throughout the construction of the extension?

Yes, the kindergarten will continue to operate as normal.

When will the new facility be operational?

We are aiming to have additional services up and running from term 4, 2020.

What services will be run out of the new facility?

The upgraded facility will be able to accommodate 3-year-old kinder, 4-year-old kinder, and child care services (depending on enrolments).

What will be the hours of operation?

Expressions of interest from the community, as well as availability of staff, will determine the final model of operation.

Is there a waiting list I can put my child’s name down on?
