We want to help you reduce the amount of food and other organic waste going into general waste, so we’re offering residents the choice of either a compost bin system or a worm farm at a subsidised price. Up to 500 compost bin and worm farm systems will be available through Council’s three transfer stations (until they run out).
Free workshops will be held to help you understand the best way to produce good compost and worm castings to nourish the garden and reduce your household’s carbon footprint.
By working together we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prevent around 56 tonnes per year of organic waste ending up in landfill.
