The 2024 Council Election will be held on Saturday 26 October.
From 12pm on Tuesday, 17 September, Council will enter the Election Period in the lead-up to the 2024 Local Government Elections. The Election Period runs until 6pm, Saturday, 26 October.
What does this mean for you?
During this period it will be ‘business as usual’ however, to ensure that we comply with our Election Period Policy and the Local Government Act 2020, there are restrictions on the kinds of decisions that can be made, and the information that we can communicate to the public.
From 17 September to 26 October, Council's public communication will be a bit quieter than usual. To make sure we stay neutral, we won’t be posting anything that could influence voters or give an unfair advantage to any candidate running for election. We’ll also be restricting comments on our social media channels.
There are no Council Meetings scheduled during the Election Period.
We will continue sharing updates on services and activities. You can also contact us by phone, email and via our website as usual during this time.
