Roads and infrastructure

Crossovers and road reserves

Vehicle crossings (crossovers) are the part of a driveway which spans from the property boundary to the edge of the road. All work on Council Road Reserves requires Council's consent.

Footpaths and drains

An asset renewal and maintenance program is in place for Council infrastructure, including footpaths and drainage.

Roads

Find out how to report a problem on Council or Regional Roads (formerly VicRoads) managed roads, our approach to road management, streetlights and speed limits

Trees and vegetation

We are responsible for trees on nature strips within the 50/60km zone of townships. We also carry out tree and vegetation control on road reserves for safety. Fire prevention slashing is also conducted throughout the Shire during the fire season.

Hepburn Shire Council is on Dja Dja Wurrung Country.

Hepburn Shire Council acknowledges the Dja Dja Wurrung as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters on which we live and work. On these lands, Djaara have performed age-old ceremonies of celebration, initiation and renewal. We recognise their resilience through dispossession and it is a testament to their continuing culture and tradition, which is strong and thriving. We also acknowledge the neighbouring Traditional Owners, the Wurundjeri to our South East and the Wadawurrung to our South West and pay our respect to all Aboriginal peoples, their culture, and lore. We acknowledge their living culture and the unique role they play in the life of this region.
