Council plays a key role in supporting our community during emergencies affecting the Shire, and this COVID-19 pandemic is no different.  Our focus for the foreseeable future is to ensure that we have the best chance of avoiding the severe impacts of COVID-19 and that we continue to support the community by providing essential services.

Where to find food support

If you’re in need of food relief, The Good Grub Club has been doing an incredible job providing food hampers and meals for the community. The Good Grub Club provides community breakfasts every Tuesday morning and lunches every Thursday. Food hampers are available at these times or by arrangement. Please call 0475 430 326 for all hamper and volunteer enquiries.

The Good Grub Club is at the Uniting Church, corner of Central Springs Road and Camp Street, Daylesford.

In case you’re concerned about entering the supermarket to purchase food, Coles Daylesford provides food deliveries or Click and Collect. Many local cafes and restaurants offer takeaway.

Where to find medical support

For counselling, GPs, medicines and scripts, Hepburn Shire has several Medical Practices. These include:

Daylesford and Creswick also have Community Health Facilities providing a number of important services, including psychology services for individuals at Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford and Trentham. Group services are available at Daylesford on demand.

Services are free of charge to clients who have an authorised Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP. Spring Medical provides a list of mental health support.

Where to get vaccinated

Getting vaccinated helps protect our community against COVID-19. The vaccines used in Australia are very effective at preventing serious illness and loss of life from COVID-19. If you haven’t had your third (or fourth, if eligible) dose, please consider the extra protection for yourself and the community.

Vaccination appointments are available from Blooms Pharmacy Daylesford, Creswick Pharmacy, and Trentham Pharmacy. Please contact your nearest pharmacy for further information.

Where to get tested

If you need to be tested for COVID-19, rapid antigen tests are available from your local pharmacy. COVID-19 testing is also available by appointment at Central Highlands Rural Health in Daylesford or Kyneton. Please call the testing centre in Daylesford on 5321 6654 to make an appointment.
