The 2026/27 Budget was adopted at a Special Meeting of Council last night. It focuses on getting back to basics and investing in the services that matter most.
Council has annual infrastructure renewal and maintenance programs.
Councils play an important role in managing and maintaining public infrastructure, including footpaths and drainage systems. These assets are essential for ensuring community safety and accessibility. Well-maintained footpaths reduce the risk of accidents, support people with disabilities, and encourage walking and wheeling as a healthy and sustainable mode of transport.
Councils also manage drainage networks such as stormwater drains, gutters, and culverts. These systems are designed to collect and direct rainwater towards waterways.
All water is managed in accordance with the Water Act 1989. Council is not involved is stormwater management other than from our formal network. Disputes arising from overland water flow between properties are treated as a civil matter and Council is not involved.
