Council is establishing a Gender Equity Advisory Committee (GEAC) to provide advice on improving gender equity within Council and the community.
Mayor, Cr Lesley Hewitt said it’s important to ensure that Council takes a proactive and strategic role in progressing the equity and diversity agenda.
“We want to help address gender equity issues by identifying barriers to and developing strategies for the equal participation,” said Cr Hewitt.
Council is calling for applications from suitably qualified and experienced community members for the GEAC.
Applications are now open and will close on Wednesday 16 June 2021.
