Federal Government funding has been secured for the stage one upgrade to the pavilion at the Glenlyon Recreation Reserve. These works will bring the building up to current standards and ensure that it is fit-for-purpose.
Mayor, Cr Tony Clark, said he was pleased to see this project take an important step forward.
“We will spend around $336,000 refurbishing the kitchen, internal toilets and general building works that include new weatherboards, internal linings, painting and electrical.”
Consultation with user groups revealed that the building needed to be refurbished with flood-proofing as a priority, while keeping in mind sustainability and accessibility requirements.
The works are expected to begin next month and be completed by February 2027. The timing of these works considers scheduled events at the reserve.
