Council is calling for suitably qualified or experienced community members to join the Heather Mutimer International Women’s Day Advisory Committee (the Committee).

The aim of the Committee is to provide Council with advice on the Heather Mutimer International Women's Day Honour Roll (the Honour Roll).

We are looking for individuals who have:

  • an interest, knowledge and understanding of relevant practices that advance women’s rights.
  • direct links to local community groups and/or organisations.
  • experience and/or understanding of the role of an advisory committee.

Mayor, Cr Don Henderson, said that Council is looking forward to welcoming new committee members and continuing this International Women’s Day tradition.

“We are looking for diverse and experienced individuals to join the Committee that oversees the Heather Mutimer International Women’s Day Honour Roll,” said Cr Henderson.

“Celebrating the achievements of our local women is just one way we can ensure we are combatting gender inequality,” said Cr Henderson.

The Honour Roll was launched in 2005 and each year, as part of the week of International Women’s Day, up to five women are added to the Honour Roll.

The Honour Roll celebrates and recognises women who:

  • advance gender equity
  • exhibit leadership qualities
  • share their skills and knowledge
  • create an environment that strives towards long-term and sustainable change
  • contribute creative, unique and innovative ideas or initiatives.

Expressions of interest are now open and close Friday 30 May 2025. Please read the Terms of Reference before applying online
