The Trentham Early Learning Centre is open with new services commencing yesterday.
New to the centre is occasional care (0 to 6 years old), open Wednesdays and Fridays (9am to 4pm), and after kindergarten care (3 to 4 years old) Mon-Friday (2-4pm).
The centre will continue to run its current program of kindergarten for 3 to 4 years old (9am-2pm). Offering this occasional and after kindergarten care complements Hepburn Shire's involvement in the Victorian Government’s early roll-out of three-year-old kindergarten.
Mayor, Cr Lesley Hewitt said that was just the beginning for the centre.
“We’re hopeful that strong support from the community for the new services will lead to a greater span of hours.
“Council has partnered with Government and committed more than $1 million to upgrading kindergartens across the Shire, including in Trentham, to improve access, the learning environment and heating and cooling,” said Cr Hewitt.
