Quick Response and Local Community Event Grants open

Both Quick Response and Local Community Event Grants open on Friday, 28 August.

Quick Response Grants are designed to support community groups who may have experienced an unforeseen disruption or urgent issue, or to facilitate smaller projects that are significantly less costly than the amount specified in other grants schemes.

The Local Community Events Grant Program supports community-based events and initiatives that engage local audiences and promote the culturally and artistically vibrant communities of Hepburn Shire.

Funding is available for events that can demonstrate benefits to a local audience, have the potential to generate intrastate visitation, and promote the arts and culture of Hepburn Shire.

Mayor, Cr Tony Clark, said organisations can apply for funding of up to $2,500, to support a new, one-off event or to support a new initiative for an existing event.

“In-kind support from Council may be available as part of the application and we encourage any events or celebration days that aim to promote the artistic and cultural diversity of our Shire. Local not-for-profit and community groups that are incorporated with an ABN, or have an auspicing agent, are encouraged to apply,” he said.

Council invites community groups to submit applications for their event.

Applicants are encouraged to contact Council’s Events Officer to discuss their initial project idea, application requirements and the online application process.

“We expect the grants to be assessed within about four weeks from submission, and to notify successful applicants within six weeks,” he said.

Successful grants must be acquitted within 12 months of the commencement of the funding agreement. See local-community-event-support-guidelines-2026-27.pdf for more information.
