'Show'ing off the region with agricultural shows, fairs and festivals

The annual events season has started with a burst of green, white and red as the Swiss Italian Festa took over Hepburn Springs and surrounds over the weekend.  

Spring is here and that means the start of our busy events season which brings thousands of visitors from far and wide to our Shire. Council is proud to support events which contribute to creating a dynamic, vibrant, and resilient economic environment as per the Council Plan 2025–2029. 

Mayor, Cr Don Henderson said that this past weekend there was a vibrant display of culture, community and Hepburn Shire charm. 

“The Swiss Italian Festa was a joyful celebration of culture, heritage and community, honouring the Swiss and Italian migrants who journeyed to the Shire in the 1850s. From the street parade and live music to artisan markets, cultural demonstrations, kid’s activities and a fireworks finale, there was something to be enjoyed by everyone,” said Cr Don Henderson. 

“The highly anticipated Lyonville Bake-off had people lining up around the block to get a look and taste of the many baked goods, and the Emergency Services Expo saw Victoria Park lit up in red and blue as emergency services agencies showed off their technologies,” said Cr Don Henderson.  

Upcoming events are sure to continue to delight locals and visitors alike, as they put the best parts of our region on display.
