Venue Accessibility Details - Chillout Festival 2023
Betel Boy – 57A Vincent Street, Daylesford
Access to venue is via a slightly raised threshold at front door opening up into a level floorspace, seating is slightly tight. Internal doorways a narrow due the heritage age of building which may limit accessibility to standard toilets.
Brew Jays / Bar Merenda – Shop 3, 22 Howe Street, Daylesford
These venues are accessed via flat entry opening up into open level floorspace, with an accessible toilet at rear of venue. Due to being new buildings accessibility is high and all areas and conform with universal accessibility standards. Area at rear is open and flat with easy access to accessible toilets. If further help is required, please ask staff.
Café Koukla – 82 Vincent Street, Daylesford
Slightly ramped wide double door entry, into flat level flooring. Seating is slightly tight, and access to toilets is a small sharp ramp to raised tiled area. Toilets are standard.
Chillout Information Hub – 94 Vincent Street, Daylesford
Access is via a flat entrance with a wide doorway, external public ambulant toilet on LHS of building.
The Convent – 7 Daly Street, Daylesford
- Comedy Show – Accessible parking is available but there are inclines to entry, if further help is required, please contact venue. Slight ramp to entry doorway then enter accessible lift to gain access to the venue upstairs. There is a ramp that takes you to open level flooring that spacious and easy to manoeuvre. Ambulant toilet is to the side of venue on this same level. If further help is required, please contact venue.
- Piazza Party – Wet weather option for party is accessed the same way as the comedy show, with the same facilities. Outdoor area is an open level area that is spacious allowing for great accessibility, chairs with arms will also be provided. Astro turf will be laid in some areas and ambulant toilet can be accessed the same way as the comedy show. If further help is required, please contact venue, or ask staff there on the day, or Samantha the key person for the event.
Daylesford Bowling Club – 8 Camp Street
Access is via a slight incline from two accessible car parking spots at the front of the venue, by concrete footpath. Access is through two glass swing doors into an open level floorspace allowing for easy access. Standard toilets can be found at the rear of the building.
Daylesford Brewing Company – 97 Vincent Street
Entry via level access at front door opening up into a level floorspace, seating is slightly tight. An ambulant toilet is located on the left side at the rear of the building.
Daylesford Hotel – 2 Burke Square
Is accessed via a slight step into front single level bar area at the single-entry point, this level has access to the standard toilets. Access to the upper area of the beer garden will require staff assistance, this area also has several steps. Access to toilets is via the single-entry point if further help is required, please ask staff there on the day.
Daylesford Library – Cnr Bridport & Albert Streets
Access to the library is via a ramp at the front of building with automatic doors. Floorspace is open with level flooring allowing for easy movement throughout the library. Ambulant toilet is located at the rear of the building.
Daylesford Pool – Cnr Central Springs Road & Bridport Street
The pool is located on a hill with a slight incline, and access to the pool is flat through gate. Grass areas with footpaths to all amenities and ramped down to pool area, with no pool hoist available. Standard toilets and changerooms on flat concrete flooring. Kiosk bench height 1180mm.
Daylesford Town Hall – 76 Vincent Street
Entry is via large ramp at the side of building, once inside floor is level and area is open and very easy to manoeuvre. Ambulant toilet at rear of building on the LHS through door and passageway. If further help is required, please ask staff on the day.
Daylesford Visitor Information Centre – 98 Vincent Street
Slightly ramped entry accessible through two automatic doors. Level polished concrete flooring throughout, spacious, and easy to manoeuvre. Recharge point available.
Grande Hotel – 1 Church Avenue, Hepburn Springs
Access to the venue is through the carpark on the side with a tiled front veranda with a slight step into building. Level flooring throughout and standard toilets can be accessed via passage. Outdoor beer garden is accessed via steps at the rear of property. Please contact venue if additional help is necessary.
Hepburn Amphitheatre – Mineral Springs Reserve Road, Hepburn Springs
An open-air grassed area with multiple concrete pathways with a raised sound shell, accessible carparking from main entry ramp. Due to the area being a grassed area, grass has been cut prior to festival for greater accessibility and hazards marked. Ambulant toilet accessed via the rear of the café. Further ambulant toilets available at rear carpark toilets accessed via footpaths.
Hepburn Bathhouse – Mineral Springs Reserve Road, Hepburn Springs
Accessible carparking at the front and access to the venue is via a wooden ramp with a slight incline, through automatic doors. On entry reception is open and easy to manoeuvre, and access to pool area is by an accessible lift. In the pool area, main pool can be entered via a ramp into the pool, other pools can be accessed via hoist. Accessible toilets are located in this area downstairs. If further help is required, please ask staff there on the day.
Hotel Frangos – 82 Vincent Street, Daylesford
Access to front area is via a small step at entry opening up into a spacious is level floorspace. Rear area is accessed via wooden steps, with further steps to beer garden area. There is a side access to the beer garden with several steps, please ask staff to gain access this way on the day. Chairs with arms will be provided on the ground floor for Speed Dating (if any guests cannot climb stairs). Access to toilets is via step and passageway or more accessible entry through Cafe Kuoklas. Toilets are standard. If further help is required, please ask staff there on the day, or Lou the key person for the venue will help with requirements.
Lavandula / Lavandaze – 350 Hepburn-Newstead Road, Shepherds Flat
Large festival on a grassed area, with access from carpark at rear through gates. Grass has been cut prior to festival for greater accessibility, and hazards marked. Portable toilets are being provided at the rear of the festival, with one ambulant toilet provided. If further help is required, please ask staff at the event on the day.
Odessa at Leaver's Hotel – 80 Albert Street, Creswick
Access to the venue is via the concrete footpath at the front of venue leading to a flat open entry through wooden swing door. Front bar area is open and wheelchair friendly, if access to rear area is required, please ask staff and they will accommodate the request. Accessible toilet is located on the LHS, just past the front bar.
Palais-Hepburn – 105 Main Road, Hepburn Springs
Access to the venue is via the footpath at the front of venue through a flat open entry through glass swing doors. Floor space is open allowing for easy access with flat level flooring, if further help is required, please ask staff on the day. Ambulant toilet is located at rear of the building.
Pavilion Café – Mineral Springs Reserve Road, Hepburn Springs
The café is accessed from multiple carparks which have accessible carparking available. The entry to the café is through a wide flat front entrance, which opens into level flooring, with limited dining area inside, but spacious seating available outside dining area. Ambulant toilet accessed through the dining area or via footpath at the rear of the café.
Peppers / Argus – 124 Main Road, Hepburn Springs
Access can be via either the reception or driveway entrance which have a slight incline. Once inside level flooring and open for greater access, standard toilets accessed at rear. Please contact venue if additional help is necessary.
Radius Art Gallery – 76 Main Road, Hepburn Springs
Please contact before arriving for easy entry carparking and if assistance is required. Standard entry which open into level flooring, and open spacious floorspace for greater access. Standard toilets are located at the rear of the gallery, but private ambulant toilet available on request.
Victoria Park – 3021 Ballan-Daylesford Road, Daylesford
A large number of the festival’s events are being held at the Victoria Park Reserve, which is a large park with sporting fields, shade areas with picnic tables, benches, and sports pavilion. Due to the area being a large, grassed area; grass has been cut prior to festival for greater accessibility and hazards marked.
There are ten accessible parking spots at the front gate where patrons can be transferred upon request (please ask attendants).
The Chillout Festival is committed to creating welcoming and inclusive community festival for all people, and as such have created a sensory friendly area, located at the front of the venue, and found on the events map.
To ensure greater accessibility for all, two recharge points have been added which can be found at the information area and at the first aid.
A Marveloo is a portable Changing Places toilet. The Marveloo features: overhead ceiling hoist; height adjustable adult change table; a fully accessible toilet; curtains for extra privacy; access ramp and automatic door; heating and cooling and an external sunshade.
Multiple portable ambulant toilets have been provided. There are multiple public toilet facilities around the grounds with standard toilets, and an ambulant toilet block is located beside the pavilion via path at rear.
Pavilion VIP green room area can be accessed through glass swing doors from the accessibility parking area via ramp. A full accessible toilet is located to the right of the front foyer area.
