Community feedback to be considered on draft strategic documents
Published on 06 June 2025
The community engagement period for draft strategic documents has now ended after an awareness campaign that ran for close to four weeks.
Included in the documents out for consultation were draft versions of:
- Council Plan 2025–2029 (including the Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan)
- Annual Budget 2025–2026
- Financial Plan
- Revenue and Rating Plan
- Asset Plan
Close to 200 submissions were received across the five documents with the majority of people wanting to have their say on the draft Council Plan and Budget.
Mayor, Cr Don Henderson, said the feedback is a crucial part of refining the priorities set out in the strategic documents.
“First and foremost, we must ensure we are focusing the next four years and beyond on what the community needs given Council’s financially constrained circumstances. Thank you to those who had their say via Participate Hepburn, hard copy surveys and email,” said Cr Don Henderson.
The draft Council Plan is built around three domains:
From 6 to18 June, feedback will be collated and considered by Councillors and Officers before potential amendments are made to the drafts. The final drafts will be considered for adoption at the June Council Meeting.
A report summarising the responses received will be made available on the Hepburn Together project page on the Participate Hepburn website.
This latest survey comes after numerous engagement activities including last year’s Financial Vision survey, a community survey in March and April this year, and the Deliberative Engagement Panels.
