DEECA – Forest Management and Roading, has requested that Council temporarily close sections of Djuwang Baring within the Creswick State Forest. The closures are required to enable essential road maintenance works. The proposed closures will be in place from 24 April to 11 May.

The proposed works aim to improve:

  • Emergency services access
  • General community access

The following roads will be temporarily closed during the works:

  • East–West Road (western section)
  • Ridge Road
  • Niggl Road
  • Jackass Road (out to Old Melbourne Road)

The following trails will be affected by the closures and will be closed for the duration of the works:

  • Southern Trails: S5, S6, S7, S8
  • Northern Trails: N1
  • Western Trails: W1, W2, W3, W4, W5, W6, W7, W8
  • Connector Trails: T3, T4
  • Central Trails: C1, C2, C3, C4

DEECA has advised that these works are necessary to ensure safe and reliable access throughout the forest network and to support continued recreational use post-maintenance.
