Hepburn Shire Council’s free school holiday program is offering a variety of activities this September, with African drumming lessons, craft sessions and kite making workshops on offer.
Council’s free holiday program brings creative and hands-on opportunities for school-aged children to have some fun and build skills.
Celebrated African drummer, Kofi Kunkpe, is a charismatic ambassador of West African culture, and brings his passion and infectious joy to two dynamic workshops held at Daylesford Library and the Creswick Hub.
Acting Mayor, Cr Shirley Cornish, encourages residents to take advantage of these school holiday programs.
“We hope that school-aged children will be able to get to some of the free activities at the community spaces listed. As well as being a productive and fun way to fill their time, these activities improve gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, confidence and education. Maybe they’ll catch up with, or make new, friends at the same time.”
There are also spring-flavoured activities and craft tables across all four of Council’s libraries, with participants crafting pipe cleaner flowers and kites to celebrate the new season and the great outdoors.
Places are limited so families are encouraged to sign up to secure limited places.
