Progress continues on Daylesford Community Facilities Project
Published on 17 April 2026
Two key components are now underway as part of the Daylesford Community Facilities Project, following Council’s resolution in December 2025.
After considering community feedback and remaining mindful of financial constraints, Council supported a long-term staged approach to the project while still supporting the reactivation of the auditorium.
This next stage of detailed planning and design has been split into two components to ensure targeted planning and delivery with a total budget of $270,000 (funded in 2025/26). The first component is focused on developing the detailed design for the front section of the Daylesford Town Hall, while the second centres on upgrades to the auditorium. This will support Council seeking external funding to deliver the physical works as part of a future stage.
Mayor, Cr Tony Clark, said the projects mark a further milestone for the community facilities project.
“These projects are a significant step forward in delivering improved facilities for Daylesford and the surrounding community as it is critical to ensure we have detailed plans to seek government funding” he said.
Tender submissions for the design of the front section have recently closed and are currently being evaluated. Council expects to consider this contract at its July meeting.
Meanwhile, a request for quotations for the auditorium upgrades is now live, with submissions closing on 1 May.
“By progressing both the design of the Town Hall’s front section and planning for auditorium upgrades, we’re ensuring this much-loved community asset continues to meet local needs now and into the future. We look forward to sharing further updates as these projects progress,” said Cr Clark.
These projects represent an important step toward enhancing community infrastructure in Daylesford.
