Council has partnered with mecwacare to host over 30 workshops across Hepburn Shire to help people over 55 to stay healthy, independent, and connected as they age.

The mecwacare Healthy Ageing Workshops are designed to support residents with practical, easy to understand information on topics that matter, from nutrition and heart health to sleep, mental wellbeing, and staying connected.

Mayor, Cr Tony Clark, said these workshops are more than just information sessions, they are a chance to learn, share, and connect with others.

“We know that living in rural and regional areas can sometimes make it harder to access services and support, which is why these sessions are so important. They empower you with knowledge, build confidence, and help you take control of your health and wellbeing,” he said.

Key priority areas in Council’s Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan are increased active living and increasing mental wellbeing.

Council encourages anyone over 55 years of age (or their carers) to attend one of the welcoming workshops and take a positive step towards healthy ageing.
