Join us for an informative and practical workshop exploring fire behaviour, fuel management, and the important role communities play in reducing bushfire risk. This session will provide a greater understanding of how fire behaves across the landscape, the factors that influence fire intensity and spread, and practical approaches to managing fuels around homes, properties, and bushland areas.
Participants will hear from local experts and gain valuable insights into balancing fire safety with environmental considerations, including how thoughtful land management can support both community resilience and biodiversity outcomes. The workshop is suitable for landholders, community members, volunteers, and anyone interested in learning more about bushfire preparedness and landscape management.
This workshop involves Hepburn Shire Council’s Biodiversity team and the Country Fire Authority, whose collaboration helps strengthen local knowledge, environmental stewardship, and community preparedness across the region.
The session also provides a great opportunity to connect with others in the community, ask questions, and share experiences in a welcoming and supportive environment.
A free afternoon tea will be provided. All experience levels are welcome.
